My 4 adventure and travel blog ~muses~

As I’ve been planning my blog – the look and feel, content, tone, etc. I’ve been doing a lot of blogging-related research and I’ve stumbled upon quite a few blogs that really inspire me to get outside and enjoy all that nature has to offer.

1. The Parks Blog by Wondery

By far, one of my favorites is the Parks Blog by Wondery. Wondery is an apparel brand whose mission is to “be a sustainable outdoor lifestyle brand dedicated to liberating women in the outdoors through awareness, resources, and the creation of a women’s outdoor community.” Their shop is full of clothing, accessories, mugs, candles, blankets, stickers, and more!

Wondery is so much more than an apparel and camping accessory brand, too. They offer monthly female explorer subscription boxes and grants through their Women’s Explorer Alliance to fund adventures and experiences that give back to the community.

Check out their latest blog post, 6 Outdoor Women Organizations to Support, to find more women-supporting-women organizations focused on providing support in the outdoor community.

2. World of Wanderlust

World of Wanderlust is my current blogging muse. Her blog (and Insta) is not only ~aesthetic goals~ but it’s also a great resource for aspiring bloggers looking to ditch their day job and blog full-time.

She offers a blogging masterclass (adding this to my quarantine to-do list asap) that focuses on building a brand, developing a cult following, and getting paid to travel – YES, PLEASE!

Her book, World of Wanderlust, is currently in my shopping cart and I can’t wait to purchase. Speaking of books, the WOW book club has given me eighteen new books to check out, and you can subscribe to receive updates once new books hit the list or are reviewed.

Did I mention she also has a shop where she sells her travel guides, chic tees and totes and beautiful presets? She’s breaking my bank! $$$

Check out her video below on how to take epic photos while on solo travel adventures.

3. The Girl Outdoors

The Girl Outdoors is my go-to resource when I am looking for how-to’s, peep my favorite how-to for making coffee outdoors here. Even though a lot of her travel destinations are overseas, Sian has a how-to for everything, and if she doesn’t have a how-to on a subject, then she’s likely written an active guide or a kit review on it.

Check out some of my favorite here:

She also offers an adventure writing and blogging course – currently signing up for this, so stay tuned for my thoughts – and wrote The Girl Outdoors: The Wild Girl’s Guide to Adventure, Travel and Wellbeing.

4. The Blonde Abroad

While The Blonde Abroad focuses more on travelling, and less on camping, her blog is so inspirational and beautiful! 😍 Just check out this quote from her About page:

Like many people, I was taught to go to college, get a job, get married, have kids and live happily ever after. Not once did I consider that chasing the societal idea of “success” would lead me to an unfulfilling and unhappy life. Back in 2011, I took a hiatus from my career and spent 3 months traveling through Australia, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Bali and New Zealand and experienced the empowerment of solo travel for the first time.

Since embarking on that first world tour, I’ve spent the past 6 years sharing my personal journey and travel tips on this website with women around the world. I have traveled to over 70 countries and now split my home base between California and Cape Town, South Africa.

One of my favorite parts of her blog is that she has her travel blog posts categorized by type of travel – solo, luxury, adventure, couples, volunteer, etc. This is super helpful to find the resources you’re looking for based on the type of trip you’re embarking on.

For new bloggers like me, I’m particularly interested in her BLOGGING RESOURCES section. She offers a master class and has an extensive Ultimate Guide to Starting A Travel Blog post detailing out everything from logo and design, SEO basics and essential plug-ins for your blog.
